Time Management

Time Management

“If someone offers you an amazing opportunity and you’re not sure you can do it, say yes- then learn how to do it later.” -Richard Branson. The biggest excuse we tell ourselves is that we don’t have the time for it. Richard Branson said it best and I live by this quote, I will take any opportunity possible, I will make time for it. People constantly say I don’t have time, I bet if you had an opportunity to learn from Warren Buffett for a day across the country you would go. I know if I had an opportunity to spend a day with Warren Buffett, Richard Branson, or Gary Vaynerchuk, I would ask them where and when. If they are across the country I would fly with no questions asked, because I understand the importance what a day of learning from them could mean in the long run. But back to time management, the reason you don’t have time is not because you don’t have it, it’s because you don’t make your goals a priority.
Everyone has 365 days in a year and 24 hours per day. It’s a matter of how you spend those 24 hours in a day is what makes the difference. I could easily spend my time not writing this blog, or not creating content but that would be good in the short run but not the long run. I could possibly save an extra 5 hours a day if I wasn’t creating videos, blogging, podcasting, and mastering my new art which is Facebook ads. In college we have so much going on between classes, sports, girlfriends/boyfriends, friends, and don’t forget how most of us waste our time….PARTYING.
Because of all this going on I schedule out every day of my life from the time I wake up to the time I go to bed. I put myself on a strict time schedule with some slots where I can see my girlfriend, go to class, and play lacrosse. The number one thing college students struggle with is time management, most freshman fail out because they don’t know how to handle their time. You need to put yourself on a schedule if you want to be productive every day. I make the most of my time because I know I am not getting it back. You should be the same way, hold on to your time, spend it the way you want. Another good saying is don’t let life take you over but you take over life. When I look at my days I can tell every single one will be busy but I embrace it.
In college make sure you make time for fun, nothing is wrong with having fun but you have to make sure you get everything else done first. Manage your time, make sure you schedule out your days, don’t let life kinda happen, but make it happen. If something is a priority to you, you will find a way.
